The total cost of the SkyBorne Indigo Cadet Pilot Program is INR 10,290,000 (approximately USD 146,000, based on an exchange rate of 1 US$ = INR 70.0). This amount covers all training phases, including the Flight Licence Conversion in India and a DGCA approved A320 Type Rating, which will be conducted in Abu Dhabi with Etihad Aviation Training Limited. Important Notes:

Overseas Health Insurance: Cadets must obtain overseas medical insurance covering one year before commencing training in Arizona, USA, and an additional three-month coverage before their A320 Type Rating. DGCA Class 1 Medical: To qualify as a Commercial Pilot in India, cadets are required to have a Class 1 Medical certificate issued by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA). How are Cadets Chosen?

Cadets are selected through a thorough application process via the SkyBorne Pilot Training Academy website. Upon successful completion of the selection process, you will receive an offer to join the training program, allowing you time to finish your DGCA CPL theory exams before starting flight training. Once selected by Skyborne and IndiGo, you will embark on your pilot training, which consists of three phases:

Phase One: US FAA CPL SEIR (12 Months)

In this first phase, you will receive the training necessary to obtain a US FAA Part 141 Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR). Training will be conducted at our SkyBorne Airline Academy located in Vero Beach, Florida.

Phase Two: US FAA to India DGCA Flight License Conversion (2 Months)

This phase of training will be completed in India, requiring you to take the DGCA-examined flight test to convert your US FAA CPL with IR to DGCA CPL with IR. Skyborne has partnered with training providers in India to facilitate this phase of training, ensuring a smooth transition for cadets.

Phase Three: Combined MCC & A320 Type Rating (3 Months)

In the final phase of the program, you will complete a combined Multi-Crew Co-Operation Course (MCC) and DGCA approved Type Rating on the Airbus A320. This Type Rating training will be delivered at an IndiGo Approved Type Rating Provider, equipping you with the necessary skills to operate in a multi-crew environment.

This structured approach ensures that cadets receive comprehensive training and support throughout their journey to becoming professional pilots with both US FAA and Indian DGCA credentials.

What Are the Pre-Entry Requirements?

To be eligible for the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program, applicants must meet the following pre-entry requirements:

Be an Indian National or holder of an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status.
Be eligible to hold a US Visa for the purpose of study.
Hold, or be eligible to hold, an Indian passport with unrestricted rights to live and work in India and travel worldwide.

What Academic Qualifications Do I Require?

Applicants must possess:

A 10+2 qualification with at least 51% in each of the following subjects: English, Mathematics, and Physics.

Is There an Age Restriction?

Candidates must be aged between 18 and 32 years on the first day of the selection process.

Are There Any Medical Requirements?

You must hold a current and valid DGCA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate and obtain a US FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate before commencing your flight training.

Is There a Language Proficiency Requirement?

Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Applicants should achieve a minimum IELTS score of 5.5, or an equivalent score in either the TOEFL or Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).
