Commercial Pilots are those who are eligible to fly passengers from one place to another safely and efficiently for Commercial Airlines. The Eligibility requirements to become a Commercial Pilot in India are;
Your age should not be less than 17 years to begin training for CPL.
You must pass Class 12th standard with Mathematics, Physics and English.
If you are a non- science student, you may pursue the required subjects through the National Institute of Open Schooling.
You must have a valid DGCA Medical Certificate.
Commercial Pilot License is an intense training program. Aspiring pilots need to undergo ground training, simulator training and flying training to obtain the CPL. CPL training course duration of 10-12 months includes academic sessions on the ground and 200 hours of flying training. This course offers 200 hours of flying training that includes dual/solo, general flying, circuit and landing sorties. Instruments and cross-country flights, skill tests, route checks and night flying rating are also included as per DGCA requirements.

For any Aspiring Pilots, Physical fitness is a mandatory pre-requisite for the issuance of Commercial Pilot License (CPL). All the Pilots must have an existing valid medical certificate, in order to fly an airplane legally. This medical certificate is obtained through medical examination conducted by DGCA approved doctors only.

The applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
The applicant must hold a valid Indian Medical Certificate.
The applicant must have completed a minimum of 200 hours of flying training, including at least 10 hours on multi-engine aircraft.
The applicant must have passed the written exams for commercial pilot license, which include papers on Air Regulations, Air Navigation, Meteorology, and Technical Subjects. In addition, the applicant must have passed English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) with at least level 4 proficiency.
In order to become a commercial pilot in India, you must first obtain a Private Pilot License (PPL). The minimum age for obtaining a PPL is 17 years. You must also have completed Class 10 with English and Mathematics as subjects. After obtaining a PPL, you can apply for a Commercial Pilot License (CPL). The minimum age for applying for a CPL is 18 years. You must also have completed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as subjects. In addition, you must have clocked at least 200 hours of flying experience. Once you have met all the eligibility criteria, you can appear for the written exam conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

As a commercial pilot in India, you will be responsible for flying passengers and cargo on scheduled flights. Your duties will include pre-flight checks, planning the flight route and landing, and post-flight checks. You will need to have excellent communication and customer service skills as you will be working closely with air traffic control and other members of the cabin crew. There are many career opportunities available for commercial pilots in India, including working for an airline or charter company. The first step to getting your commercial pilot license in India is to earn your private pilot license. You must be at least 17 years old and have completed 40 hours of flight training, including at least 20 hours with an instructor. Once you have your private pilot license, you can begin training for your commercial pilot license.To be eligible for a commercial pilot license in India, you must be at least 18 years old and have completed 200 hours of flight time, including at least 100 hours as pilot-in-command. You must also pass a written exam, an oral exam, and a flight test. Once you have your commercial pilot license, you can start flying passengers for hire. If you want to fly larger aircraft or cargo planes, you will need to get additional certification.

The fee structure for obtaining a PPL is as follows: The cost of the Private Pilot License course is Rs. 2,10,000/-* which can be paid in instalments. The fee for appearing in the CPL examination is Rs. 3000/- to Rs. 5000/- per exam.
Assuming you have zero flying experience, it would take about 9-12 months to obtain a CPL in India. The process involves completing 200 hours of flying, which includes at least 100 hours of solo flying. Ground school training is also required in order to pass the written exams.
