8. Line Oriented Flight Training
9. Simulator Training for Crews
5. Are there any special requirements for ATPL Simulator Classes as per DGCA regulations?
Yes, there are certain special requirements for ATPL Simulator Classes as per the DGCA regulations. According to the DGCA CAR Section 8, Series X Part I, the following requirements have to be met:
1. The ATPL Simulators should be approved by the DGCA or the State Authority.
2. The ATPL Simulators should have a minimum of four display channels with a resolution of at least 800 x 600 pixels.
3. The ATPL Simulators should include a visual system which should display the external environment realistically.
4. The ATPL Simulators should include a minimum of two controls in the cockpit, one of which should be a Flight Management System (FMS).
5. The ATPL Simulators should have the capability to simulate the operations of all aircraft systems, power plants, flight controls, navigation aids and other systems.
6. The ATPL Simulators should be able to simulate normal and abnormal operations of the aircraft systems.
7. The ATPL Simulators should have the capability to simulate a variety of weather conditions, day and night operations, and instrument flying.
8. The ATPL Simulators should be equipped with instructor/operator station/s.
9. The ATPL Simulators should have a minimum of two visual displays for the instructor/operator station/s.
10. The ATPL Simulators should be capable of producing printouts of any flight parameters for both the student and the instructor.
11. The ATPL Simulators should have the capability to reproduce the maneuvers specified in the curriculum.
12. The ATPL Simulators should be equipped with a voice communication system between the instructor and the student.
13. The ATPL Simulators should have a minimum of two flight control systems, one for the student and one for the instructor.
14. The ATPL Simulators should have the capability to simulate a variety of malfunctions.
15. The ATPL Simulators should be able to simulate the operations of the aircraft in the air traffic control environment.
