When you sit with Capt. Tomar for counselling, it doesn’t feel like a formal session. It feels like talking to someone who has already walked the path you’re trying to understand. He knows how confusing the beginning can be — medicals, DGCA Computer Number, ground classes, flying school choices, budgets — everything feels overwhelming at first. He speaks honestly. If something is risky, he will tell you. If something is unnecessary, he will explain why. There are no big promises or shortcuts — just practical guidance based on real experience in aviation. The focus is simple: help you make the right decision from day one. Because one wrong step in pilot training can cost time and money. Capt. Tomar makes sure you understand the process clearly before you move ahead.
Counselling with Capt. Deval Soni is deeply personal, because his journey into aviation was never smooth or handed to him easily. He understands the confusion, the financial pressure, the fear of making the wrong decision, and the emotional stress that comes with chasing a cockpit dream. He has lived that uncertainty himself. During counselling, he does not simply explain the process — he shares perspective. From medicals and DGCA Computer Number to ground school strategy, flight training choices, budget planning, and airline preparation, everything is discussed honestly. When you speak to Capt. Deval, you are not talking to a counsellor — you are talking to someone who once sat exactly where you are sitting now.
The IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme is a structured airline-entry pathway designed to take candidates from zero flying experience to Airbus A320 First Officer. It integrates DGCA compliance, international flight exposure, and Type Rating certification.
Candidates must meet the following academic, medical, and regulatory criteria before entering the selection process.
10+2 with Physics, Mathematics & English (Minimum required percentage as per airline intake norms)
Typically 18–35 years (May vary slightly by intake cycle)
Indian National or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
Valid DGCA Class 1 Medical Certificate (Mandatory before flying phase)
Important: Strong English communication skills are essential, as aviation communication worldwide operates exclusively in English. Fluency impacts both selection performance and airline cockpit readiness.
| Component | Estimate |
|---|---|
| CPL + Flight Training | Major Cost Segment |
| A320 Type Rating | High Investment Phase |
| Total Range | ₹80 Lakh – ₹1.2 Crore |
This breakdown is based directly on the official Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) brochures for the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme. It explains how the pathway is structured from zero flying hours to Airbus A320 First Officer readiness.
The training fleet and simulator ecosystem are structured to progressively develop handling skills, multi-engine competence, and airline-oriented cockpit discipline.
Garmin glass cockpit avionics, ideal for foundational flying, navigation, and instrument training.
Advanced twin-engine aircraft used for multi-engine rating and complex system handling.
Enhances control sensitivity, coordination, and confidence in advanced manoeuvring.
MCC preparation, Airbus A320 familiarisation, procedural training, and instrument scenario practice.
Training Philosophy: Progressive transition from single-engine fundamentals to multi-engine proficiency and airline-style simulator operations ensures cadets are technically prepared before entering A320 Type Rating.
DGCA theory preparation in India + foundational aviation instruction before flight phase.
Conversion of foreign CPL credentials into DGCA-compliant Indian licence.
Multi-Crew Cooperation + Airbus A320 certification under DGCA oversight.
FTA clearly states that pilot training is a significant financial commitment. Candidates must account for tuition, accommodation, meals, travel, medicals, licensing fees, and living expenses. Transparent disclosure is emphasized.
Access high-fidelity intelligence covering air law, operational procedures, and human performance to accelerate your flight deck career.
