The total cost of the SkyBorne Indigo Cadet Pilot Program is INR 10,290,000 (approximately USD 146,000, based on an exchange rate of 1 US$ = INR 70.0). This amount covers all training phases, including the Flight Licence Conversion in India and a DGCA approved A320 Type Rating, which will be conducted in Abu Dhabi with Etihad Aviation Training Limited. Overseas Health Insurance: Cadets must obtain overseas medical insurance covering one year before commencing training in Arizona, USA, and an additional three-month coverage before their A320 Type Rating. DGCA Class 1 Medical: To qualify as a Commercial Pilot in India, cadets are required to have a Class 1 Medical certificate issued by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Upon successful completion of the program, cadets will receive both a US FAA Commercial Pilot Licence and an Indian DGCA Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating, qualifying them for commercial flying opportunities in both the USA and India.
The programme price is based on the assumption that cadets have already passed their DGCA commercial written exams. If cadets have not completed these exams, Skyborne collaborates with a reputable training provider in India to facilitate that training. Cadets interested in this option should allocate an additional US$3000 in their budget to cover the costs associated with completing the necessary training.

Cadets are selected through a thorough application process via the SkyBorne Pilot Training Academy website. After submission, your application will undergo a screening process based on specific criteria relevant to the SkyBorne Indigo Cadet Pilot Program. Suitable applicants will be invited to complete online psychometric and aptitude tests. If successful in these initial assessments, candidates will be invited to participate in a one-day evaluation with Skyborne. Successful candidates will then proceed to the final selection phase with IndiGo Airlines.
Before beginning your flight training, it is a prerequisite to have completed your DGCA written exams. If you have already obtained this qualification, you can commence your flight training immediately. However, if you have not yet completed these exams or are currently in the process, don’t worry—you are still eligible to apply for the SkyBorne Indigo Cadet Pilot Program.
Upon successful completion of the selection process, you will receive an offer to join the training program, allowing you time to finish your DGCA CPL theory exams before starting flight training. Once selected by Skyborne and IndiGo, you will embark on your pilot training, which consists of three phases:
In this first phase, you will receive the training necessary to obtain a US FAA Part 141 Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR). Training will be conducted at our SkyBorne Airline Academy located in Vero Beach, Florida.
This phase of training will be completed in India, requiring you to take the DGCA-examined flight test to convert your US FAA CPL with IR to DGCA CPL with IR. Skyborne has partnered with training providers in India to facilitate this phase of training, ensuring a smooth transition for cadets.
In the final phase of the program, you will complete a combined Multi-Crew Co-Operation Course (MCC) and DGCA approved Type Rating on the Airbus A320. This Type Rating training will be delivered at an IndiGo Approved Type Rating Provider, equipping you with the necessary skills to operate in a multi-crew environment.
