The eligibility criteria for joining the Indigo Cadet Pilot Programme Classes as per the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) are as follows:
• The applicant must be an Indian citizen and must have obtained a valid Indian passport.
• The applicant must have completed 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• The applicant must not have any physical/mental disability that may render him/her unfit for the program.
• The applicant must have a minimum height of 152 cm and a maximum of 193 cm.
• The applicant must have a minimum visual acuity of 6/6 in each eye and the applicant must not have colour blindness.
• The applicant must be medically fit as per the DGCA medical standards.
3. What kind of theoretical and practical training is provided in the Indigo Cadet Pilot Programme Classes?
The Indigo Cadet Pilot Programme Classes provide theoretical and practical training according to the syllabus prescribed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The theoretical training includes classroom sessions on topics such as aircraft systems, performance, flight planning, meteorology, air navigation, flight rules, and aircraft handling. The practical training includes flight simulator sessions as well as real-time flying in an aircraft. The programme also provides extensive ground training, with a focus on safety and operational procedures.
4. What are the career prospects after completion of the Indigo Cadet Pilot Programme Classes?
On successful completion of the DGCA approved IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme, the cadets will be eligible to apply for the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with the DGCA. Upon obtaining the CPL, the cadets will be eligible to join IndiGo as a First Officer, subject to meeting the required criteria. IndiGo will also provide the cadets with a comprehensive career development path, giving them the opportunity to be promoted to the rank of a Captain.
