Introduction to the Indigo Cadet Pilot Program: A guide to becoming an Indigo Cadet Pilot and the requirements for entry

The Indigo Cadet Pilot Program is a comprehensive training program designed to develop the next generation of professional pilots. This program is administered by Indigo Airlines, India’s largest airline, and is designed for students interested in starting a career in aviation. The program is designed to provide cadets with the necessary knowledge and skills to become a professional pilot.

The program is divided into two distinct phases: ground training and flight training. Ground training is conducted in classrooms and virtual environments, and focuses on the fundamentals of aviation, such as principles of flight, navigation, aircraft systems, and operations. During this phase, students will also learn about aircraft maintenance and safety, as well as communication and professional skills. Upon completion of ground training, students will be prepared to take the written exam for their Commercial Pilot’s License.

The flight training phase consists of both simulator and in-flight training. Students will receive instruction in aircraft systems and operations, emergency procedures, and take part in practical exercises. Upon successful completion of the flight training phase, students will have earned their Private Pilot’s License and will be eligible to continue their training towards a Commercial Pilot’s License.

To be eligible for the Indigo Cadet Pilot Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age

• Hold a valid Indian passport

• Have a valid Indian Class 1 medical certificate

• Be fluent in English

• Have passed the 10+2 examination from an Indian school or equivalent

• Have a minimum of 60% in mathematics, physics and chemistry in the 10+2 examination

• Have a minimum of 60% in English language in the 10+2 examination

• Have a valid Indian driver’s license

• Have a valid Indian pilot’s license

• Have a minimum of 25 hours of solo flying experience

Indigo Cadet Pilot Program is a great opportunity for aspiring pilots to get their aviation career off the ground. • Hold a valid driver's license

• Pass the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam

• Pass the FAA Private Pilot Practical Exam

• Have a minimum of 40 hours of flight time

• Have the ability to read and interpret aeronautical charts

• Have the ability to control an aircraft with precision

• Have the ability to interpret aircraft systems and instrumentation

• Have the ability to interpret and apply aviation regulations

• Have the ability to interpret and apply weather data

• Have the ability to think critically and make informed decisions in a dynamic environment

Once applicants have met the eligibility criteria, they are required to pass a rigorous selection process. The selection process consists of a written exam, an oral interview, a physical exam, and a flight simulator evaluation. The selection process is designed to assess the applicant's knowledge of aviation and their ability to perform in a professional aviation environment.

Successful applicants who pass the selection process will be enrolled in the program and will receive the necessary training to become an Indigo Cadet Pilot. Training includes classroom instruction, simulator training, and actual flight training.

The training is designed to prepare aspiring pilots for the rigors of the aviation industry. Upon successful completion of the training, cadets will earn their Private Pilot Certificate and will be eligible to apply for entry-level positions in the aviation industry.
