What is the Process of Becoming a Pilot After 10th in India

In India, after 10th grade, students can pursue their dream of becoming a pilot by enrolling in an aviation school or an academy that provides pilot training. These schools usually offer courses such as Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and Instrument Rating (IR) that are approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). After completing 10+2 in any stream, the student has to pass the Entrance Exam conducted by the aviation school. After that, the student is required to complete the CPL training, which includes 200 hours of flight time, ground training and theory classes. During the training, the student must be cleared in all the DGCA tests and pass medical tests as well. Once these tests are completed, the student will receive a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and can begin their career as a pilot.

Overview - What is the Process of Becoming a Pilot After 10th in India

Becoming a pilot after 10th in India is an exciting career path for those who are looking for a challenging and rewarding profession. In order to become a pilot, you must first meet certain qualifications, complete the necessary training, and obtain a pilot’s license.
To begin the process of becoming a pilot in India, you must meet the qualifications set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). These include being at least 18 years old, having a valid school-leaving certificate, and possessing a valid medical certificate. Additionally, you must have passed 10th grade or its equivalent with English and Mathematics.
Once you have met the qualifications, you can begin the process of pilot training. This involves completing a full-time course at an aviation school. During the course, you will learn the basics of flying, such as navigation, meteorology, aircraft systems, and aircraft handling. You will also practice in a simulator and eventually, complete a solo flight.
Once you have completed the training, you will be required to take an exam administered by the DGCA. This exam consists of both a theoretical and practical component and will test your knowledge and skills. Upon successfully passing the exam, you will be issued a Commercial Pilot License (CPL). With this license, you will be able to fly commercial and/or private aircraft for hire or reward.
After obtaining your CPL, you can apply for a job as a pilot with an airline or other aviation company. Airlines typically require applicants to have a minimum of 500 hours of flying experience. You can gain this experience by working as a flight instructor or charter pilot.
Lastly, you may choose to pursue a career as an Aircraft Pilot. This requires you to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) which is a higher-level license. An ATPL requires a minimum of 1500 hours of flight time and a rigorous written examination.
In summary, becoming a pilot after 10th in India is a challenging but rewarding career path. To become a pilot, you must meet certain qualifications, complete the necessary training, and obtain a pilot’s license. Once you have your license, you can apply for a job as a pilot with an airline or other aviation company. Finally, you may choose to pursue a career as an Aircraft Pilot by obtaining an Airline Transport Pilot License.
