How to Get a Commercial Pilot License After 12th in India

Getting a commercial pilot license in India after 12th grade is a long and rigorous process. Generally, a student needs to have a minimum of 12th grade educational qualifications with Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects. Once that is completed, the student must have to pass the entrance test conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). After that, the student needs to complete 200 hours of flying training, which can be done at any of the approved flying schools in India. Along with that, the student needs to complete ground studies and pass the exams conducted by the DGCA. After successful completion of the training, the student has to appear for the DGCA exams to get the license. Finally, after clearing all the tests and exams, the student will get the commercial pilot license.

Overview - How to Get a Commercial Pilot License After 12th in India

Getting a commercial pilot license in India after 12th grade is a dream of many aspiring pilots. To make this dream a reality, there are several steps that must be taken in order to become a qualified commercial pilot. This article will provide an overview of the process of getting a Commercial Pilot License in India after 12th grade.
The first step towards a commercial pilot license is to decide which type of license you would like to pursue. There are several types of commercial pilot licenses available, including Private Pilot License, Commercial Pilot License, Multi-Engine Pilot License, Instrument Rating, and Airline Transport Pilot License. Depending on your career goals and the type of aircraft you would like to fly, you will need to choose the license that best suits your needs.
Once you have decided on the type of license, the next step is to complete the necessary education and training. In India, aspiring pilots can pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or a Diploma in Pilot Training from recognized aviation schools. Additionally, aspiring pilots can also pursue a 3-year Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course from an approved institute. Other relevant courses for aspiring pilots include Aeronautical Science, Air Traffic Control and Human Factors in Aviation.
Once the necessary education and training has been completed, the aspiring pilot must take the necessary exams to obtain the commercial pilot license. This includes the Medical Examination, the Written Examinations, the Flight Tests and the Pilot Proficiency Check. The Medical Examination is conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Written Examinations are conducted by the National Council for Aviation Training (NCAT). The Flight Tests and the Pilot Proficiency Check are conducted by the Flight Testing Authority (FTA).
Once the exams have been successfully completed, the aspiring pilot must obtain a Pilot Medical Certificate from the DGCA. The Pilot Medical Certificate is valid for 24 months and must be renewed on an annual basis. The aspiring pilot must also obtain a Pilot License from the DGCA, which is renewed on an annual basis.
Once the Pilot Medical Certificate and the Pilot License have been obtained, the aspiring pilot must obtain a ratings certificate from the DGCA. The ratings certificate is required for flying any type of aircraft and is renewed on an annual basis. The ratings certificate must be obtained from an approved training organization.
Once the ratings certificate has been obtained, the aspiring pilot must complete the necessary ground and flight training. The ground training includes subjects such as air law, air navigation, flight planning, aircraft systems and meteorology. The flight training includes basic instrument flight, advanced instrument flight, night flying and cross-country flying.
Once the ground and the flight training have been completed, the aspiring pilot must take the Flight Test. This is conducted by the FTA and is designed to assess the pilot’s knowledge and skills. Once the Flight Test has been successfully completed, the aspiring pilot can obtain the Commercial Pilot License from the DGCA.
Getting a Commercial Pilot License in India after 12th grade is a challenging but rewarding process. Aspiring pilots must complete the necessary education and training, take the exams, obtain the necessary certificates and complete the ground and flight training. Once the process is completed, the aspiring pilot can pursue a career as a commercial pilot in India.

A commercial pilot license is a must-have for any aspiring pilot who wishes to pursue a career in the aviation industry. The process of obtaining a commercial pilot license in India after 12th grade is not a simple one and requires dedication, commitment, and time.
The process of obtaining a commercial pilot license in India after 12th grade begins with the selection of an aviation academy. There are several aviation academies across India, and each academy has its own set of criteria and fees structure. The selection of an academy should be based on the student’s background, budget, and preferences. It is important to check the accreditation of the academy, as well as the faculty, before enrolling.
After selecting an academy, the student must appear for the entrance test, which consists of a written examination and an interview. The written examination tests the student’s knowledge about basic aviation concepts and terms, and the interview tests the student’s attitude and aptitude for flying. Once the student clears the entrance test, he/she will be eligible to join the academy and begin their training.
The training period typically involves several stages of instruction, such as ground school, simulator training, and flight training. During the ground school, the student will learn the fundamentals of aviation, while the simulator training will involve flying a plane in a simulated environment. The flight training involves flying a real plane, which will involve several hours of solo-flying and will be followed by the final assessment for a commercial pilot license.
The students must also obtain a medical certificate from the Aeronautical Medical Examiner (AME) to indicate that they are physically fit for flying. This certificate is valid for two years, and the student must renew it periodically.
Once the training is complete and the student has passed the final assessment, he/she can apply for a commercial pilot license. The applicant must submit the required documents, such as a logbook, medical certificate, and evidence of training, to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The license will be issued after the authorities verify the documents and assess the applicant’s proficiency.
Getting a commercial pilot license in India after 12th grade is a lengthy process that requires dedication and perseverance. The process can take up to two years, and the student must pass the entrance test, complete the training, and obtain the medical certificate to be eligible for the license. However, with hard work and commitment, it is possible to become a successful pilot and pursue a career in the aviation industry.
