Established in 2007, CAE Gondia, also known as National Flying Training Institute (NFTI) is a joint venture between CAE and the Airport Authority of India (AAI).
CAE Gondia's pilot training programs provide high quality and focused ab initio training to aspiring airline pilots. Our programs combine premier ground school courses with high quality flying instruction delivered in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) standards. Upon successful completion of the program, cadet pilots obtain a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with an Instrument Rating (IR) and a Multi-Engine Rating (ME).
Our training resources include a modern training fleet, advanced flight simulation training devices, well-equipped classrooms, extensive online training materials, and a highly experienced and dedicated instructional staff and academy management team. All residential accommodations, classrooms, cafeteria and administration facilities are newly-built.

CAE – NFTI Gondia is proud to partner with IndiGo in the delivery of well-trained Pilots. This self-sponsored Program designed by CAE and IndiGo is to enable eligible candidate to train for a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and an Airbus A320 Type Rating before going on to fly as an A320 Junior First Officer with Indigo.

The unique IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme is specifically designed for individuals with no previous flying experience who would like to embark on a career as a pilot.
The programme comprises two phases of training.
Phase 1 - Commercial Pilot License with ME IR (CPL ME IR)
Domestic Pathway

1. Ground Theory
Footprint: 750 Hrs. Total Duration: 4 months
2. Total Flight Training – DGCA CPL (Single & Multi-Engine)
Footprint:200 Hrs.
3. Simulator Training
Footprint: 30 Hrs.
4. Total Duration: 14 months

Phase 2 – A320 Type Rating with Jet Introduction Training (JIT) & Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC)

1. JIT & MCC
• Ground School: Footprint 5 Days
2. Simulator: Footprint 32 Hrs
   • A 320 Type Rating
   • Ground School: 12 Days
   • CPT: 36 Hrs.
3. Simulator: 44 Hrs.
4. Total Duration
• 70 Days

The above training duration are excluding but not limited to DGCA licensing, visa applications, weather disruptions and remedials that might extend the duration of the cadet training.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the IndiGo Programme:

1. Must be between 18 and 32 years of age
2. Have a valid passport and the unrestricted right to live and work in India, with the ability to travel unrestricted worldwide
3. Fluent in English (verbal and written)
4. Able to obtain and maintain Indian DGCA Class 1 Medical Certificate
5. Minimum education qualification: 10+2 with minimum score of 51% / Grade Point 6 / Grade C1 – individually in each subject i.e. Physics / Mathematics / English or a higher degree in these subjects with minimum of 51%*
6. * Candidates not possessing an Indian Class 1 medical can apply for the IndiGo Programme with a Class II medical, however they must possess an Indian Class 1 medical prior to commencing on the Programme.

If you meet all the entry requirements you can submit your application. Our team will review and verify your application IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program and if all the entry criteria are met you will be invited to undertake the CASS assessment tests with our assessment centre.
Stage 1: Online Assessment test
This assessment day will cover:

1. Computer-based testing
2. Pilot aptitude, including hand/eye co-ordination motor skills and spatial awareness
3. Academic, mathematical and technical capacity
4. A multiple-choice test of technical reasoning
5. A dynamic multi-task test

Stage 2: Group activity

1. Once you have passed the initial online assessment test, you will be invited to a group activity assessment that will be conducted in the presence of a selection panel from IndiGo. This will test will assess your communication skills and team coordination.

Stage 3: Personal interview

1. The next stage is a 1-to-1 personal interview with the IndiGo selection panel.
2. Upon successfully completing the entire assessment process, we will share the assessment results with you and then will invite you a LOI signing event.
